Who We AreThe Brooklyn Smoke-Free Partnership is a pro-health advocacy group that protects Brooklyn residents from secondhand smoke, defends youth against tobacco addiction and helps smokers find the resources to quit. The organization is funded through a grant from the New York State Department of Health and works in coordination with groups dedicated to a tobacco-free New York City, including the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, and American Lung Association.
Our MissionThe Brooklyn Smoke-Free Partnership’s mission is to save youth from tobacco addiction, protect residents from the hazards of exposure to secondhand smoke and to promote a society that is tobacco-free.
We Believe That:
What We Do1. Stop the tobacco industry’s ability to market to our youth in neighborhood and community stores. 2. Increase the number of outdoor spaces that are free of second-hand smoke, including: ballparks, playgrounds, beaches and entry-ways. 3. Increase the number of apartment buildings, coops and condos that are 100% smoke-free.
