Facts about Big Tobacco:
1.) Smoking is the number one cause of preventable death in the U.S., killing more than 400,000 Americans every year, including more than 24,000 New Yorkers.
2.) 90% of adult smokers began smoking before the age of 18. As existing smokers quit, the tobacco industry must addict children to their deadly products to sustain their customer base.
3.) Approximately 1 million New Yorkers are still smoking.
