Who We AreThe Queens Smoke-Free Partnership is a health advocacy group that protects Queens’ citizens from secondhand smoke, defends children against tobacco addiction and helps smokers find the resources to quit. The organization is funded through a grant from the New York State Department of Health and works in coordination with groups dedicated to a tobacco-free New York City, including the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, and American Lung Association.
Our MissionThe Queens Smoke-Free Partnership’s mission is to protect residents from exposure to deadly secondhand smoke and to promote a tobacco-free society for all New Yorkers. We believe that: ● Every New Yorker has the right to breathe clean air ● It is unacceptable that 6,000 children living in Queens currently smoke cigarettes[1], one-third of whom will die prematurely, as a direct result of smoking.[2]
Priority Issues1. Eliminate exposure to secondhand smoke for all who live, work and play in Queens 2. Protect young people from tobacco industry target marketing and product access 3. Link New Yorkers to affordable, accessible cessation services for all city residents
