Voluntary

The NYC Coalition for a Smoke-Free City encourages organizations and businesses across the city to adopt voluntary smoke-free policies, going above and beyond what city, state, and federal law mandate.

As we learn more about the negative effects of even occasional secondhand smoke exposure, many businesses, organizations, and residences want to do more to promote health. These policies can apply to outdoor space, sponsored street festivals, or building entranceways.

Listed below are some of the many voluntary smoke-free policies that have been implemented to reduce exposure to toxic secondhand smoke and help make New York City a cleaner and healthier place for all to enjoy.

If you are Interested in adopting a voluntary smoke-free policy or having your organization/business added to our list, contact your Borough Partnership today!
